This 6N/7D Himachal circuit pairs the colonial charm of Shimla with the high-mountain energy of Manali. Walk the Ridge and Mall Road, ride up to Kufri’s viewpoints, and follow the Beas river through the Kullu valley.

For the adventurous, there is river rafting at Kullu, paragliding and zorbing at Solang Valley, and a drive through the 9-km Atal Tunnel into the snowy Lahaul valley. Slower moments come at the Hadimba Temple, the hot springs of Vashisht and the cafés of Old Manali.

Our driver picks you up from Chandigarh airport or station for the 3.5–4 hour drive (115 km) up to Shimla, with a stop at Timber Trail or a dhaba in Dharampur. Check in and walk along the Ridge, Christ Church and Mall Road in the evening.

Drive to Kufri (16 km) for pony rides, yak photos and the views from Mahasu Peak, with optional activities at the Fun World adventure park. Stop at the Indira Tourist Park and Fagu. Afternoon visit to the Jakhu Hanuman temple, the highest point in Shimla, before a free evening.

An early start for the scenic 8-hour, 250-km drive to Manali via Mandi, Pandoh Dam and the Kullu valley. Stop at Kullu for a white-water rafting stretch on the Beas (Grade II–III, payable locally) and the shawl factories. Reach Manali by evening.

Visit the Hadimba Devi Temple in its deodar forest, the Vashisht hot springs and the Manu Temple. Spend the afternoon exploring Old Manali’s cafés and the Tibetan monastery near Mall Road, with time for shopping.

Drive about 3 hours into the Parvati Valley to Kasol, the backpacker hub by the river, and on to Manikaran Sahib with its famous hot springs and gurudwara langar. Walk the riverside trail in Kasol before heading back to Manali.

Where does the trip start and end?

It starts and ends in Chandigarh, which has good flight and train connections. We can also arrange a start from Delhi at extra cost.

Are adventure activities included?

Rafting, paragliding and snow activities are paid directly to licensed operators, so you choose what you want. Paragliding at Solang is roughly ₹2,500–₹3,500; rafting at Kullu about ₹800–₹1,500.

When is the best time for this trip?

March to June is great for adventure activities and pleasant weather; December to February is best for snow. Rafting generally runs from March to June and October–November.

Is it suitable for groups?

Yes. For groups we use Tempo Travellers or multiple cabs and can arrange group rates, bonfires and DJ nights on request.

Can we visit Rohtang Pass?

Rohtang needs a government permit and a local taxi, so it is optional. It is usually open from mid-May to October, depending on snow.
